MrBeast: Sarah and Trey Lost 150 Lbs Together Before Their Wedding and Won $250,000

Sarah and Trey Attempt to Lose 150 Lbs Together Before Their Wedding and to win $250,000

Trey stood on a scale inside a custom-built gym, reading a number that had defined nearly every waking hour of the last 163 days. Sarah stood on a scale beside him, dressed for her wedding. Neither of their families had seen them since before any of this began. For a couple who had spent years avoiding mirrors and dreading the word ‘exercise’, the terms of what they had just agreed to were almost comically steep: lose 150 lbs combined, stay inside a painted red boundary circle around their new home for the entire duration, and get married at the finish line in front of the people who loved them most.

Day one, the gym equipment stays untouched

The facility MrBeast built for Sarah and Trey had more machines than either of them had ever seen in one room. Their honest response on arrival was to leave it all where it stood and talk about ordering food. ‘I feel a little bit embarrassed about workout equipment I don’t know how to use,’ Trey admitted. They could not do a proper push-up. A single lap around an indoor track was a genuine physical event. Personal trainers Bri and John arrived to establish baselines, and those baselines were stark. Mark Heyman, MD, co-founder and chief medical officer of Function Health, drew blood and delivered a number that landed hard: on a scale of 0 to 100 for insulin, 100 being the worst possible result, Trey scored 100. Sarah was pre-diabetic. Both were at risk of infertility. Heyman told them that if they fixed what was broken, which he described as entirely fixable, they could live into their 90s or beyond.

The first month moved in daily steps. Trey hit 15,600 steps in a single day and felt his pants go loose. Sarah went 20 days without a migraine for the first time she could remember. At the day 30 weigh-in, they had collectively shed 43 lbs. Nearly a third of the goal, in one month.

The challenges that kept raising the stakes

MrBeast stacked three additional challenges on top of the core 150-lb goal, each with its own prize. On day 60, Sarah and Trey deadlifted a loaded bar weighted to $50,000 and held it for a full minute. With 10 seconds left, Sarah’s hands were shaking visibly. She did not drop the bar. The wedding fund grew by $50,000.

The day 90 challenge was a net climb, revealed mid-training to include a helicopter lifting that same net 100 feet off the ground. Sarah, who described herself plainly as ‘not a heights person’, spent weeks dreading the twist. When the helicopter appeared and the cables dropped, she climbed anyway. Trey followed. They both made it into the aircraft. The honeymoon to Hawaii was theirs.

For the final car challenge, Sarah and Trey pulled a Ford F-150 around a track, and when MrBeast phoned mid-challenge and offered a second car if they doubled their lap count to 300, they said yes without hesitating. They completed all 300 laps.

The final 30 days split them apart entirely. Sarah and Trey were separated into adjacent but isolated facilities, no contact, no conversation, each training alone toward individual $25,000 challenges chosen from sealed briefcases. Trey selected 30 push-ups. Sarah selected a one-minute dead hang from a bar, a movement she had once been unable to hold for a single second. On day 150, reunited at last, Trey completed his 30 push-ups. Sarah held the bar for a full minute. MrBeast handed each of them $25,000 in cash.

At the final weigh-in 163 days after they arrived, Trey down from 345 lbs and Sarah from 249, the scale confirmed they had cleared the 150-lb target. Their combined winnings came to $350,000.

The letter Trey wrote to himself before any of it happened

In the final days before the wedding, Trey read aloud from a letter he had written at the start of the challenge. ‘My mental health is severely impacted by my current lifestyle and I hate myself most of the time,’ he read. Then he put the paper down and spoke to the person who had written it: ‘Hey big dog, I hope you feel a lot better about yourself. Honestly, I don’t know when the last time I looked at myself in the mirror and didn’t feel disgusted. So, I know you feel good. I’m proud of you.’

At the wedding ceremony, Sarah told Trey: ‘I have watched you transform into a new man. You’ve been my rock ahead of every challenge and kept me grounded when I was at risk of fleeing.’

Trey’s insulin levels dropped 83 percent. Sarah’s insulin returned to normal. Her PCOS, which Heyman described as a condition that had been preventing her from being able to have a baby, normalized entirely. Trey’s testosterone, which had measured at the level of a young child at the start, doubled.

The red boundary line they had spent 163 days treating as the edge of everything was waiting for them on the other side of the ceremony. They stepped over it together.
