Millie Bobby Brown arrived holding a bouquet of flowers, ready for a date she admitted she was genuinely nervous about. The man she was meeting was Manchas, a dog pulled from a shelter by Best Friends Animal Society to make room for animals displaced by the LA fires. He was one of 1,700 rescued in that single effort, and he had absolutely no idea he was about to be wooed by one of the most recognizable actors on the planet. Another amazing Video by The Dodo “pairing celebrities and rescue animals up for the cutest blind dates in our series Dodo Dream Date! In this episode, Millie Bobby Brown spends the afternoon with Manchas, a rescue pup looking for a loving home.”

Flowers, this-or-that, and a very opinionated apple fan
The date opened with Brown presenting Manchas his bouquet and noting, with only mild offense, that he had not brought her anything in return. ‘I love charitable men,’ she said, forgiving him immediately. To break the ice, the two played a round of this-or-that, where Manchas bumped his nose against his preferred option. He voted dogs over cats, apples over watermelon, and, in what Brown framed as a potential dealbreaker, he picked music over movies. She leaned in close and made her position clear: ‘My new movie Electric State is coming out on Netflix. I’m forceful when it comes to my movie promotion, so if you want to be my boyfriend, you’re going to have to get on board.’ Manchas held his ground.
The chemistry was complicated. Manchas wandered off mid-date, prompting Brown to call after him with full indignation: ‘You don’t leave the date early, especially when you have to pay the bill.’ When asked whether her dates usually run away, she paused and answered honestly: ‘No, they usually just can’t get enough.’ Things got more chaotic when her husband appeared in the doorway, confused. Brown’s defense was immediate and airtight: ‘I wasn’t cheating, babe. I love our marriage, but look at this boy.’
Care packages built for dogs who lost everything
Beyond the banter, the afternoon produced something practical. Brown and the team assembled a care package for Manchas to take home when he gets adopted, then kept going and built multiple care packages for other dogs affected by the LA fires currently in Best Friends’ care. Every dog that finds a family will leave with one.
Brown runs her own rescue, Joey’s Friends, which saves dogs across the country. She described Manchas as equal parts adventure dog and couch potato, and said any family that loves him will find he can adapt to almost anything they throw at him.
The bouquet, still sitting on the table
The flowers Brown brought for Manchas, yellow and slightly squished at the edges from the drive over, resting on the table between them.
By the time the date wrapped, Brown had a clear recommendation for anyone watching: if a family out there wants a date like this, Manchas is available. ‘He’s a beautiful boy,’ she said, ‘and I hope he finds the best home ever.’
